Music Notes

Wow, it's been a while since I have posted. The Christmas season sure kept me busy! During the hustle and bustle of the season, I managed to find time to make these cute cards. I made several of them and gave them to a few special people as a gift. I got to finally break in the music notes wheel. It was the first thing I fell in love with when the catalog came out, and have not used it until now. I left off a sentiment so the cards can be used for any occasion. I had so much fun making these cards. Don't you just love it when you create something that is so simple and effortless that turns out beautiful? Well, I do! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I have LOTS of fun new stuff coming up ahead... including new catalogs, new stamps, monthly classes and AWESOME events!!! Be sure to check back soon!

Beautiful French Foliage

My friend Cindy just had a cute little baby about a month ago. Her mother was in town visiting the new baby and Cindy asked her what she wanted to do. She said make cards! So Cindy called me up and we set a date and had a fun evening stamping. Cindy had purchased the new beautiful set Fall Foliage. I had to play with it. It is seriously the most beautiful fall stamp set I have ever seen! The leaves look so real and are so pretty when stamped in beautiful fall colors. I love the french script background and the "spill spots" background stamps. I loved it so much, that she let me take it home to play with some more! Thanks Cindy!! I have lots of fun ideas rolling around in my head. Now I just need to time to stamp them out! Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Thank You

Hey there!
One of my favorite kind of cards to make are Thank You cards. I love sending them out to let people know that I am grateful for them. For that reason, I make lots of them. This is a card that I had floating around in my head for a while. I accidentally stumbled upon the color combo when I had a few scraps thrown together in a pile. Sometimes that is the best way to discover new color combos. :) The colors I used are Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso. I knew that I wanted to use the Vintage Vogue stamp set with this color combo. Of course I *had* to use my new crocheted ribbon... LOVE IT!!! I really love how this card turned out. I am still so excited about the new color renovation. Stampin' Up! has so many great new colors to choose from! :) Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Quilted Happy Birthday

Hey there!
Wow! Summer sure has kept me busy!! I have really been missing my stamping time. Especially with the new catalog out, and all of the new colors, and ribbons, and stamp sets.... I really just want to sit for days and stamp!.. but I can't. I did manage to free up an hour today to make a card I had floating around in my head. I was inspired by a quilt that we have in our extra bed room. I thought the new Dotted Scallp Ribbon Border punch looked like lace, so I sponged the edges and crumbled it up to give it a vintage feel. I used three new colors on this one, two In Colors... Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait, and I also used the new Daffodil Delight.. which I totally love!!! I thought it was missing some 'real' ribbon, so I threw in some Pear Pizzaz ribbon. I am in LOVE with the new In Color ribbon!!! ... so soft. I hope you enjoy checking out my latest card. The colors are a little bit wild for me, but it's all about color this year, so I figured, why not! Thanks for stopping by!

paper: very vanilla, poppy parade, peach parfait, daffodil delight

Because I Care - Thank You

Razzleberry Birthday

Hey there!
Oh, it sure does feel good to make a card. I spent all week getting my to do list done so that I can have the whole day to get paper crafty! The timing couldn't have been better. I got my *new* 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog along with my preorder papers (new In Colors and new Core Colors), and a whole new wave of inspiration came over me. I made this card for a special birthday girl. Vintage is so *in* these days, so I thought I would do a vintage card. It is a very simple card. I have made a few very similar to this. I think it is just a great go-to card for any occassion (for a girl that is). Once again.. going with the sewing machine stitching. Gotta love that! I hope you enjoy todays card. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh Baby!

Hey there!
It's baby card time! I know so many people that will be having babies within the next 6 months, so I've got to get my baby card stash up to par. I have had this card floating around in my head for quite some time. I have finally let it out of my head. I think it tured out cute. The whole idea is that the third little quail is the baby- a boy- and the boy will be the third child in this family. Get it? It is hard to see in the picture, but the 'baby' quail is paper pieced on blue paper. I used the coming-out-of-retirement, Baja Breeze and the soon-to-come-out-brand-new, Marina Mist (the darker blue). I just love this color combo. I think it will be a perminent scheme in my collection of cards. To get my ribbon like that, I just sewed a strip down the middle with my sewing machine, and folded it over as I went. Thanks for stopping by!

paper: baja breeze, marina mist, whisper white
ink: basic black, versamark

Fun with Color

Hey there!
My little girls and I had a craft day all day. I have been having so much fun with the new Awash with Flowers stamp set. It's funny how certain stamp sets just get your creative juices flowing and the possibilities are endless, but how sometimes other stamp sets just leave you blank and really struggling. It's been a while since I have had a new stamp set that just let the flood gates open with creativity. Awash with Flowers is that creative stamp set for me. I really love the two-step stampin'. I had a fun time creating monochromatic cards today. I need to get my fill of Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay before they are gone forever. I have really enjoyed the In Colors this year. Lucky for me (and all of us out there), Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede have made it into the Stampin' Up! Color Collections- Wahoo!!! Take a scroll down and see my four creations. I think these four would make a great gift for someone. A Thank You pack. Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment! ;)

Awash with Target

Hey there!
I went into Target a few weeks ago, and immediately saw all their cute new signs displaying their new colors of spring. I was awestruck by one of their color combinations... Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Real Red! Mental note noted. When I finally received my Awash with Flowers stamp set in the mail, I knew this would be the perfect stamp set to go with my new favorite color combo. I finally had a chance to sit down today and make my card I have been thinking about non stop for weeks. I love it! I know exactly who will be receiving this card in the mail soon. I just love the two-step stamp, Awash with Flowers! So many fun options with this set! Thanks for stopping by!

Dear Father

Here is a nice Father's Day card that I made the other day. I don't have very many masculine type stamp sets. I thought Pocket Silhouettes would be nice. I used the curly tag label from Vintage labels and stamped the silhouette inside then punched it all out with the curly label punch. The sentiment is from Well Scripted. I did a little sponging around the edges to soften it up. I really like this card. Pleasing to look at. I think I say this every time but... I really really love the Vintage Labels stamp set. It happens to be free (until March 31) when you spend $50 on Stampin' Up products. Thanks for stopping by!

Plum For You

Hi there! Here is a quick and super easy card that I made today. I used the Sale-A-Bration set Vintage Labels. I have this set in clear mount, so what I did was randomly place the three label stamps on my large clear block, inked it all up, then stamped all the stamps at once. I think I stamped it two or three times to fill the piece of paper. I love the randomness of that technique. This set is really growing on me. The great thing about this set is that the three label stamps coordinate perfectly with three of Stampin' Up's punches! Love that! Hope you enjoy today's card. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Ruffles

Hi everyone! Here is a cute little card I made the other day. Once again I was inspired by one of Dawn's cards. She made a cute card with some really cute ruffles and I just had to give it a try. First I rolled the Very Vintage wheel in Crushed Curry ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I used the scalloped punch and punched out a few lines of scallops. I sponged the scallops a little with Creamy Caramel ink. Glued them on in layers and gave them a little fluffing. The cute border around the 'For You' is the Vintage Labels Sale-A-Bration set. I thought this card turned out so cute and fluffy. Thanks for stopping by! :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

{supplies}

stamps: very vintage wheel, vintage labels

ink: crushed curry, creamy caramel, soft suede

paper: whisper white, kraft, crushed curry

other: crushed curry ribbon, white gel pen, butterfly punch (martha stewart), vintage button, linen thread, corner punch

Vintage

Hey there! Here is a quick card that I whipped up. No layers - just stamping, ribbon and little cutting. I love the simplicity of it! I left off a sentiment to keep it simple. I am really loving the new Vintage Vogues stamp set... and all of the new satin ribbon. I am sure you will be seeing more from this set. ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
